Stretch marks happen when people gain and lose weight at a rapid rate. These marks are usually red or dark brown and appear on the stomach or abdomen, hips, breasts, thighs and buttocks area. These marks happen when there are changes to the elastic supportive tissue that lies under the skin. The marks can fade and even disappear with time. When women are pregnant, they gain weight and lose weight rather quickly. This is why stretch marks are common for such people. However, there are ways to prevent such marks from appearing. The following are some tips for how to prevent stretch marks.

Drink a Healthy Amount of Water and Eat a Lot of Greens

One of the best ways to avoid stretch marks is to eat a healthy diet full of greens, fruits, and vegetables. Doing this along with drinking eight or more glasses of water a day will hydrate the skin and ensure it is tight and maintains its elasticity. It is important to eat everything from spinach and cucumbers to carrots and healthy proteins like nuts.

A pregnancy is an exciting time in a womanís life. To bring new life into the world is a unique and amazing experience. However, one needs to take care of herself during this pregnancy. Otherwise, the baby could become injured and there could be some major complications with the pregnancy. A woman needs regular check-ins with her doctor, needs to eat a balanced and healthy diet fit for both her and the baby, and needs to take time to rest and reduce stress. This doesnít mean a woman canít work, visit loved ones, or has to stay in the house all of the time. Instead, it means understanding that the body is transforming and that one is carrying around not only extra weight but another life inside of her. Taking time to rest and lessen stress will keep the baby healthy and the mother-to-be happy. The following are some tips for reducing stress and getting rest during a pregnancy.
